Planning of the day

Plan on 4 to 6 hours trip Chamonix to Chamonix.

From Chamonix Aiguille du midi, we take the lift to Plan de l'Aiguille and then to the summit of Aiguille du Midi (3842m). After a glance around on the Mont Blanc and Matterhorn we put the equipement and the guide rope you up to walk down the snow ridge. Fixed ropes are in place to help you. If you can fit skis on the bagpack you'll have you're bothe hands available to hold yourself.

Soon we put the skis on. The guide will give you safety instructions and decide which way to go. He will find the best snow for you according to the conditions of the moment and the way you ski.

Do not hesitate to make several pauses, take pictures and ask for informations on the peaks surrounding you. The view is unbelievable.

After a while we arrive near the requin hut, there it'is possible to stop and order warm food and a drinks. If you prefer we ski a little bit more to stap after the ice-fall of the "Giant Glacier" in a place nammed "Salla à manger" where we can pick-Nick.

Depending on snow conditions we will ski to the Montenvers train or ski down to Chamonix. To reach the Train due to the melting of the glacier, we will have to walk 300 steps to reach the bubbles that leads to trainstation. Same causes same consequences, it will take 10-15mn uphill to quit the glacier if we ski down to chamonix... Global warming is a reality here !

Your ski level

On this run, due to high mountain situation, conditions of snow change regularly, ask to your guide what are the conditions of snow of the moment few days before you go.

After heavy snow fall, we recommand that you have an experience of off-piste. You must be able to control your skis, side slide, snow plow and be able to turn on "all snow". On pist, "red" should be a minimum.

Several ways are possible depending uppon your abbilities

  • Vallée Blanche classique (family, basic skiers)
  • Petit Envers ou Moyen Envers (advanced skiers)
  • Grand Envers (experst skiers)

If you are uncertain of your ability, we recommand you to ski one day with the guide before.
