Planning of the day

From Chamonix Aiguille du midi, we take the lift to Plan de l’Aiguille and then to the summit of Aiguille du Midi (3842m). After a glance around on the Mont Blanc and Matterhorn we put the equipement and the guide rope you up to walk down the snow ridge. Fixed ropes are in place to help you. We can provide you backpacks to attach your skis on sot that you’ll have you’re both hands available to hold yourself. Before we start on ski we’ll do a little safety briefing. The guide will give you instructions and decide best route to go regarding snow quality and group off-piste experience. He will find the best snow for you according to the conditions of the moment. Do not hesitate to make several pauses, take pictures and ask for informations on the peaks surrounding you. The view is unbelievable. After a while we arrive near the Requin (Shark) mountain hut. It is a manned mountaineering shelter for summer ascent. There it’is possible to stop and order warm food and a drinks. If you prefer we ski a little bit more to stop after the “Giant Glacier” ice-fall in a place nammed “Salle à manger”. It’s a good pick-Nick place and a great picture spot. Depending on snow conditions we will ski to the Montenvers train or ski down to Chamonix. To quit glacier we will walk up a long stair in order to reach the bubbles that leads to Montenvers trainstation (global warming !).Plan on 4 to 6 hours from Chamonix to Chamonix.

Several runs are possible : Vallée Blanche classique (family, intermediate skiers), Petit Envers ou Moyen Envers (advanced skiers), Grand Envers (experst skiers/ very good snow conditions)

What ski and fitness level is required ?
